Who Is Maribel?
Passionate | Dynamic | Empathetic | Family Oriented
I began my career in human resources in the hospitality industry before transitioning into global business leadership. Those early experiences shaped my belief that organizations succeed when people feel respected, supported, and challenged.
Over nearly three decades at Visa, I grew through multiple leadership roles to become Senior Vice President of Human Resources. In this role, I lead people strategy across Latin America and the Caribbean while advising senior executives around the world.
Alongside my corporate work, I spent two semesters teaching Human Resources Management at Florida International University. I’ve also mentored young professionals and spoken in high school and college classrooms, helping the next generation of leaders connect theory with real-world business experience.
OFF THE CLOCK
I’m a devoted matcha lover and someone who genuinely enjoys bringing people together. Hosting is one of my favorite things—whether it’s a casual happy hour with friends or a 50-person hibachi night at home, I love creating moments where people can gather, laugh, and enjoy each other’s company.
Family is at the center of everything I do. My daughter is already showing signs of becoming a true girl boss, confidently following in my footsteps, while my son is on his college campus competing in e-sports tournaments and working toward becoming an aviation engineer.
By my side is my husband—affectionately known as the project manager of our family—making sure everything somehow comes together. A drummer and artist at heart, he’s the creative force and the glue that holds us all together.
